1 hour 20 minutes of Unpacking Service

June 3, 2008 · Leave a Comment

absolutely not kidding,

i spent 1 hr 20 minutes in a guest’s suite unpacking 4 suitcases,

and i didn’t unpack all yet,

each of them had at LEAST 5 pairs of shoes,

definitely Mrs had more!

Mr had 8 trousers, three suits,

roughly 10 shirts,

3 belts,

tonnes of underwear,

his own bag of books – i think he brought his library along – 12 books,

Mrs had a million and one Prada blouses,

at least 12 pants,

i wondered why she packed sweaters,

why ah why! Singapore doesn’t turn cold at all.

the whole time i was in there,

Mr was CHAIN-SMOKING, one after another after another,

davidoff reds, i almost died,

oh my goodness really…

its my worst unpacking experience i have ever done.

i just needed to rant, harmless entry, its part of my job and i know.

-

but i feel better after a session of “roti prata” with shah and davis =)

My 1st Red Mark

May 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ever since starting work 1.5 years ago,

i got my first ever red mark today.

failure to double check on my junior

and assuming its has been done.

now i got my first “bad” track record,

this is not good,

it might/might not actually hinder my progress.

i thought it wasn’t such a big problem,

but apparently because im a senior,

a small is a big problem.

a big is an even bigger problem.

they have high expectations,

and supposed that we try and be perfect in every way.

shit happens we all know right?

well i know – i’ve got to learn from it and get moving again!

Just like the Ol’ Times

May 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

they are the friends i hung out with in brissie,

they are the friends that made me feel at home,

they are the friends that gave me a sense of belonging,

they are the ones that i had great times with,

they are also the ones i spent mugging with,

7 of us gathered at Holland V last night.

Actually it was my attempt to relive the Aussie spirit,

with the intention of Hog’s Breathe followed by Cold Rock,

but none of it came true.

Because because!

Hog’s breathe was closed due to electrical fault – suay can!

Cold Rock was packed,

so we went to NYDC followed by 2am Dessert instead.

All of them are doing great,

Lin – Project Mgr of an event’s company

Ashley – Branch Mgr of an Education centre

Josh – Recruitment consultant

Leslie – Having alot of job offers but none to his liking =P

Jia Hui & Kelvin – Apprentice at Wong partnerships law firm

I m So happy and proud of them!

and i promise with many more gatherings to come =)

*June 12th at Equinox – Everyone pls go RSVP now

Growing Up Together

May 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

its been a long time since i met these two fellas,

jac also known as my “kukushit partner” and

mingren also known as “mimixiaojiji”

(nicknames derived from story)

i met that lady earlier and talked non-stop,

all the way from boarding the train,

to coffee club at takashimaya,

to dinner catch up with mimi over at Hanabei,

where we all queued up for more than an hour!

my goodness,

it was good,

catching up on everyone’s lives,

how each of us have survived shit thrown at our face,

either at work or people called “friends”,

or even the happy times we had,

how each of them have grown up,

mingren with the most drastic change – for the better that is!

good job mimi, so proud of you – i’m sure you can make it as a FA.

i guess thats the amazing thing,

growing up together!

with more to come, definitely!

When we were young

May 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

on the bus to home,

in front of me sat this young boy with his grandfather,

this boy brought a smile to my face

because…

do u remember when we were young we used to play

“scissors, paper, stone”?

can u still remember the tune?

this boy sang it differently

“scissors, paper, stone,

ooh ba yea ba,

roti prata, char kway teow”

goodness!

its a remix version of “scissors paper stone”!

it brought back ol’ memories.. how nice it was.

Encouraged but not recommended

May 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

total contridiction,

i m told to go the extra for guests,

to deliver not good service but wow service,

one that will create that “something” special.

yet at the same time i get put down for it,

i should have done this, this, this

instead of that, that, that.

i guess if service has so much boundaries,

it is no wonder that Singapore’s service is deemed not up to expection,

as far as i know,

its not our fault.
