through the week one of my eye lid kept twitching,
i knew something was going to happen,
just didn’t know what,
i shrugged it off as it perhaps could be lack of sleep and rest.
little did i know,
God made me bump into people that i rarely see,
places of all places Raffles City,
i heard the news that one of my juniors passed away,
he was the airforce pilot undergoing the survival training in Brunei.
Clifton was such a bubbly character,
well-liked by many,
loved by all ages,
most of all going to be missed by many,
one of which myself.
i went to the wake this evening,
and oh boy staring at the coffin and picture of him in his graduation gown,
how life could be so short,
at the age of 20 years only,
why why why? of all places brunei !
perhaps if he was in Singapore and it happened,
would it result differently?
why did he have to go try for pilot?
if he just continued OCS would this have been prevented?
but what has happened has happened.
my heart goes out to his two siblings, parents and grandmother and all his family,
to the student union gang who has been there for him since day 1 to his last days,
that’s what friends are for, really.
today, reconcile with someone you have fall-out with,
or today, tell someone you love that you treasure him/her,
don’t wait don’t hold back,
you never know when’s your last day.
Clifton, rest in peace…
