“jager-bombs” is THE BOMB!

aussie style, because aussies absolutely LOVE this drink,

in addition, with vodka cranberry in one hand and bourbon dry in the other!

all 5 of us captured on the dance floor!

when we all got back to the hotel,

equipped with F.R.I.E.N.D.S boardgame,

and LOTS of chips, bacardi, spirit, chocolates and gummies,

we played till the early hours of the morning! awesome!

the view from 15th floor Fairmont

and of cos overlooking the pool and aerial view of

Raffles! Viva La Raffles!

Grace’s Raffles Highlights

June 22, 2008 · 1 Comment

In a blink of an eye, we have passed the 1st half of 2008 and
sure am glad i’ve accomplished
two things

1. Personal Butler to Prince Albert II of Monaco

During the month of April, i had the honor of being Prince Albert’s personal butler during his stay with us. It was so interesting, challenging in many ways and awesome experience i have had. His serene highness was very approachable, i could converse with him in all sort of circumstances, at breakfast, by the pool, in his suite. It was very comfortable and there was absolutely no airs or “royalty” mannerism. He is a perfect gentleman. His immediate entourage comprising of Colonel Bruno and Mr Bongiovanni were also a pleasure of being service to them.

At the end of their stay, His serene highness gave me several peeks on the cheeks and a very firm handshake. Not only that, he wrote my name on the black book (which is a special book, where every royalty or important person have written on it before) “Thank You Grace”.
Truly an unforgettable experience!

2. Raffles Award (First Quarter)

my manager nominated me for this award and i can’t believe

i WON !

its one of my goals to achieve this,

and i thank the management for believing in me and the work i have put it.

my first achievement in the hotel !

i am very thankful and grateful for this wonderful 6 months.

Thank You God for guiding me through this.

Rest in peace my friend

June 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

through the week one of my eye lid kept twitching,

i knew something was going to happen,

just didn’t know what,

i shrugged it off as it perhaps could be lack of sleep and rest.

little did i know,

God made me bump into people that i rarely see,

places of all places Raffles City,

i heard the news that one of my juniors passed away,

he was the airforce pilot undergoing the survival training in Brunei.

Clifton was such a bubbly character,

well-liked by many,

loved by all ages,

most of all going to be missed by many,

one of which myself.

i went to the wake this evening,

and oh boy staring at the coffin and picture of him in his graduation gown,

how life could be so short,

at the age of 20 years only,

why why why? of all places brunei !

perhaps if he was in Singapore and it happened,

would it result differently?

why did he have to go try for pilot?

if he just continued OCS would this have been prevented?

but what has happened has happened.

my heart goes out to his two siblings, parents and grandmother and all his family,

to the student union gang who has been there for him since day 1 to his last days,

that’s what friends are for, really.

today, reconcile with someone you have fall-out with,

or today, tell someone you love that you treasure him/her,

don’t wait don’t hold back,

you never know when’s your last day.

Clifton, rest in peace…
